Let’s Throwback to The Enthusiasm of Women Around the World Celebrating International Women’s Day 2018
In the first week of March, precisely March 8th, the whole world celebrates International Women’s Day. United States of America is the first country to celebrate International Women’s Day in 1909 in February, precisely in New York City.
In 1917, the day of international women was officially designated as a national holiday in the Russian soviets. Which turned into the day to fight for women’s rights and to bring about world peace, The United Nations in 1977 inaugurated the day of International Women’s Day as celebrations commemorated each year.
This year, International Women’s Day carries the Press For Progress theme. Based on the official website, by applying this kind of theme, it is expected that women can continue to move and dare to achieve gender equality in every way. A strong call to #PressForProgress also triggered every women by giving motivation and unite the friends, colleagues, and the whole society to think, act, and be gender inclusive.
Purple has been chosen as a dress code color for International Women’s Day action. The protesters wearing purple represents the official color of International Women’s Day, participated in events and marches held around the globe. So, why we do still have to celebrate International Women’s Day?
Inspired by last year theme, #MeToo and #TimesUp, this year, International Women’s Day wants to create a movement to give a support to people or victim of sexual abuse, gender parity, and work-life balance.
